Early Treatment

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that a child receive their first orthodontic evaluation at age seven. At this age, we are able to recognize potential problems and correct them before they become more serious.

During your child’s initial evaluation we will determine if there are any problems that we need to address. These problems can include: severe crowding, an open bite, deep bite or a crossbite. If treatment is indicated, we will create a personalized treatment plan for your child.

Early orthodontic treatment varies between patients, but may include; removable or fixed appliances that can provide more room for crowded and erupting teeth; holding space for unerupted teeth; creating facial symmetry through manipulating jaw growth and reducing the possibility of tooth extraction.
